Ultimate Dirt Challenge, Rincon, Puerto Rico February 19, 2008
So, you say you’ve wanted to race your mountain bike. But the vacation days at work aren’t endless and that surfing trip you’ve put off for years is calling, and heck no the family isn’t letting you get out of town without taking them with you…what to do?
The Medialla Light Ultimate Dirt Challenge, held in Rincon, Puerto Rico, combines one of the Caribbean’s best surf spots, dirt jump contest, outdoor music festival, and cross country mountain bike racing all in one location.
Course: 4.2 loop held at El Faro Light House point, next to the Domes in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
Registration: Register on site Saturday, March 28th. UCI license required for international competitors.
The course is fast, twisty, typically dry and warm, and within walking distance of down town Rincon.
Unlike your typical cross country race, this is a show, festival, and outdoor event to not be missed.
Fly into either San Juan, for easy in and out when combined with the following weekend’s UCI event in Bayamon, or keep it local and arrive in Augadilla, an easy 20 minute drive along the back roads to Rincon.
In its 7th year, the Ultimate Dirt Challenge is one of the premiere off road events in Puerto Rico.
